“Wonderful Summer weekend”
Holcomb’s was the perfect spot for me and my daughter for a weekend visit to Colgate. The accommodations were comfortable and felt just like it was my home in Hamilton. Breakfast was delicious every morning with as many choices as you could want, all freshly made. Holcomb’s was full on our visit but it was so quiet that I had no idea that there were other guests. A great find on TripAdvisor and will be our go to spot on future visits!
“Adorable B&B, Highly Recommend!”
Stayed here for a night during Labor Day Weekend to attend a wedding in the area. Actually changed my reservation from an inn close by to this B&B, and am really happy I did. It was impeccably clean, good-sized space, really well cared for and the Holcombs are lovely people. Would definitely recommend it and totally would stay here again!
“It’s just like going home again”
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Holcomb’s B&B during the 4th of July week. It was our second stay there and we have enjoyed both of our stays a great deal. The Holcomb’s were wonderful hosts and have done an absolutely stupendous job of renovating and remodeling the house at 5 Mill Street in Hamilton, NY, and I should know – I grew up there in the 1960’s. Unfortunately, over the years since my family moved out the house was abandoned, gutted and stripped by subsequent owners. The Holcomb’s bought, gave it a lot of blood, sweat and tears, and well as an ample amount of TLC, and turned it into a B&B showplace.
“Wonderful hospitality in a beautifully-appointed house”
My teenage daughter and I stayed in Holcomb’s Bed and Breakfast in August while visiting Colgate University. Our stay here was delightful, and I wish we could’ve stayed longer than one night. Karen warmly greeted us, and showed us around the beautiful house, pointing out fresh baked goods in the kitchen. Our room was beautifully furnished and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting in the living room in the evening to do some reading and work. Karen prepared a lovely array of breakfast offerings, and made pancakes to order for my daughter. We stayed in other B&B’s on our trip, and this was by far the best. I will be back if my daughter ends up at Colgate!
“Wonderful stay and walking distance from Colgate”
My family had a wonderful stay at Holcombs’ while dropping my daughter off at Colgate University. Hospitable hosts, large, comfortable and clean rooms and a wonderful breakfast in the morning. Only a 10 minute walk to campus. Will certainly stay again.
“Excellent place to stay!”
My husband and I stayed in this B&B during our visit to Hamilton, NY and have only positive impressions to share. The property was beautiful, the room was good size, beautifully furnished and matched from the high quality sheets and towels to the bed frame, curtains, etc. The owner was a very warm and polite lady. We had numerous questions about the town and she was extremely proactive and helpful. In addition to this the breakfast that she offered was delicious and rich. The whole place was located quite downtown and yet in the quieter part of the town. We would recommend this place to all our friends!
“Comfortable place to stay”
We stayed at this inn while on a college visit to Colgate. The location was perfect and the room was bright, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious! It was a great choice for the tour or any visit to Hamilton.
“Lovely facility, lovely hosts”
I spent a week at Holcomb’s B & B while attending a conference at Colgate. The facility is charming; spotlessly clean and very welcoming. Our host Karen who operates the B & B with her husband Richard could not have been more gracious and accommodating . Lovely breakfast, wonderful hospitality. I am already planning my next visit.
We stayed here one night when dropping our son off at Colgate. Karen, the owner, was sweet and wonderful. It was as though we were staying at a close friend’s house. The rooms were clean and the B&B is wonderfully decorated.
I strongly recommend!
We’ve stayed here about 6 times, and it has always been perfect. VERY clean. Nice people, and nice breakfast. Close to Colgate, and our favorite place to stay in the area. Karen asks that you take your shoes off inside the door. If you think about it, it makes sense – they have a stone driveway and gleaming hardwood floors. And again, the place is spotless.
